Jerky, biltong and marinades
Jerky is dried marinated meat. Biltong is the South African equivalent, cured with vinegar and spices. Both use beef, but also game and chicken, and the marinade is the second question after the meat.
Teriyaki flavours may contain mirin or sake, and some Worcestershire-based marinades use vinegar. Halal-certified jerky is available from specialist brands and halal grocers.
