What stays on your device

Your checking preferences and recent checks are stored in your browser only. Photos of labels are read on your device and are never uploaded.

Barcode lookups send the barcode number to Open Food Facts to fetch the product.
Analytics: we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count visits.
Advertising: we show ads from Google. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads, based on your consent choices. You can change these at any time from the consent link, or at Google Ad Settings.
Your location: the "near me" buttons for prayer times and mosques ask your phone for your location only when you tap them. It is used on your device to find the nearest city or mosque and is never sent to us.
Voice search: when you tap the microphone, your browser turns speech into text. In Chrome and Edge this is done by Google or Microsoft servers; in Safari by Apple. We only receive the resulting text, and nothing is recorded by us.
Translation: if you choose a language other than English, the page text is sent to Google Translate to be translated. Nothing is sent if you stay in English. Machine translation can contain mistakes — the English version is the reference.
