Disclaimer
Halal Check Online is an information service. Its classifications are informational assessments, not formal fatwas or halal certification. It is not a halal certification body and it does not inspect factories or certify products.
What a result is
A result is information to help you decide. It tells you which listed ingredients are halal, doubtful or haram under the rules on How we decide, and why. It is guidance. It is not a halal certificate, and it is not a personal religious ruling.
Limits of label analysis
- We read the ingredient list only. We cannot see the factory, the supplier, processing aids that are not listed, or cross-contamination.
- We cannot tell whether meat or gelatine was slaughtered or produced correctly. Only a halal certificate can.
- Photo and barcode results depend on the text being read correctly and on the product database being right.
- Recipes, suppliers and manufacturing methods change, and a pack may differ from the data we hold. Always read the pack you are buying.
- Scholars differ on some ingredients. Where they do, we show the views and do not treat one as universal.
What to do with a result
- Halal: no prohibited source is indicated by the information we have. Check the pack for a halal logo if certification matters to you.
- Doubtful: the label does not say enough. Ask the maker, look for a certificate, or follow a scholar you trust.
- Haram: there is reliable evidence of a prohibited ingredient.
Accuracy
We work to keep information correct and sourced, and we correct mistakes when they are reported (see the correction process). We cannot promise that every page is complete or current. We accept no responsibility for choices made without checking the pack or asking a qualified person where it matters to you, but we want you to have the information to make those choices, and we explain our reasons on every page.
Questions about your own situation, such as medicines, supplements or a particular certificate, are best put to a scholar or to the certifier.
