Is Affiliate Marketing Halal?

Quick answer It depends

Affiliate marketing is halal for most scholars when you promote halal products honestly — it is a commission for bringing a buyer (samsara). It becomes haram when promoting haram products such as alcohol, gambling or interest-based loans, or when misleading people.

Conditions

  • The product or service is halal.
  • Your recommendation is honest.
  • You disclose that you earn a commission.

Affiliate links and honesty

An affiliate earns a commission when readers buy through a tracked link. Scholars treat it as brokerage, which is allowed when the work and the commission are clear.

The conditions are honest descriptions, no misleading claims and disclosure that a link is paid. UK rules require creators to make clear when content is an advert.
