Is Wimpy Halal in the UK?

Quick answer It depends

We have not seen a statement from Wimpy that its UK menu is halal, so treat the meat as not halal unless your branch shows a certificate. Ask your local Wimpy whether its beef and chicken are halal, and check for bacon on the same grill.

What to check

Halal certificate on display and shared grills.

How to check a branch

Check the chain's own website or allergen guide, look for a halal certificate on display and its date, and ask staff which items are halal and how they are cooked. Franchise branches can differ from each other.

What Wimpy UK says

Wimpy UK's FAQ has a question on halal accreditation. Its answer says: "We do not currently have Halal accreditation for any of our restaurants and do not specifically identify any of the products on our menu as being suitable for a Halal diet." It adds that customers' needs vary and staff are happy to discuss them in the restaurant.

That means there is no certificate to ask for. If halal matters to you, treat Wimpy as not halal, and ask the restaurant about individual items.
