Is Roosters Piri Piri Halal in the UK?

Q: Is Roosters Piri Piri Halal in the UK?

Roosters Piri Piri presents itself as a halal piri piri chicken chain. Check the certificate at your branch and the chain's current statement, as standards (for example on stunning) can differ between certifiers.

What to check

Who certifies the chicken and whether that matches your standard: see is stunned meat halal?

How to check a branch

Check the chain's own website or allergen guide, look for a halal certificate on display and its date, and ask staff which items are halal and how they are cooked. Franchise branches can differ from each other.

What we found about Roosters Piri Piri

A halal guide says Roosters Piri Piri is HMC-certified at all UK locations, but we could not confirm that against an HMC listing. A community directory lists several London and Reading branches as fully halal on staff word, and a review of the Harrow branch says it is no longer HMC certified.

Because the evidence conflicts, ask your branch to show its current certificate and check it against the HMC directory.
