Quorn contains no meat, so the slaughter question does not arise. Most products are mycoprotein (from a fungus), egg or potato protein, and plant flavourings. Many Muslims eat them; check ready meals and sauces for wine, and the flavourings if you follow a strict view.

What we found about Quorn and halal
Quorn's UK FAQ answers the halal question directly. We read it on 3 November 2026. It says there are a number of Quorn products which are halal approved, and explains that because Quorn is a meat-free brand, the aim is to ensure no alcohol is used in either the products or the process of manufacture.
The page does not name a halal certifying body and does not publish a list. It tells shoppers to contact Quorn's customer service team for the full list of halal products, so the claim applies to some products only and not to the whole range. Do not assume a Quorn product is halal because the brand is meat-free; check with the company for the product you buy.
These are the ingredients behind the Doubtful and Haram results for Quorn. Doubtful means the label does not say enough, not that the product contains anything prohibited.
Of the 25 Quorn products we checked: 7 labelled vegan, 4 labelled vegetarian, 3 containing meat, gelatine or other animal ingredients and 11 with no vegetarian label and no meat or gelatine listed. Whether a product is vegetarian depends on the product, so check the pack for a vegetarian or vegan label.
